Gesture Drawings ... part 7

This one was really fun!
We had two models and had to draw them for the exact same time as we were drawing one model. That is why the 1 min once are very very rough.. only lines. I wish we had more time to try these two, because they were doing amazing poses.

Имахме два модела, които трябваше да рисуваме за същото време, за което рисувахме само един. По тази причина, едноминутните рисунки са само груби линии. Искаше ми се да ни бяха дали малко повече време, тъй като позите, в които заставаха моделите бяха страхотни.

Me and the Talking Buddies

I was a guest last week of a podcast called Talking buddies. Unfortunately it is in Bulgarian /for everyone that wants to hear it and is a non Bulgarian speaker/, but I still thought it is a good thing to mention it here. Миналата седмица бях мило поканена като гост на един нов-новеничък подкаст на име Talking Buddies. Опитвам се да напиша кратко резюме, за да ги изрекламирам правилно, но все ще звучи глупаво. Може би просто е най-добре да го пробвате, ако имате малко своодно време или просто ако обичате да слушате интересни неща докато си вършите други задачи. Беше много много мило от тяхна страна да ме поканят и аз все още смятам, че се изложих, защото хич не ме бива в тези неща... 
Исках да им пожелая много успех, тъй като аз със сигурност ще ги слушам :)

Gesture drawing Part 5

These were done after a few months away from the classes.. I felt a bit behind, because once you start doing it kind of regular, it is easier to draw, and you can progress and add, and evolve. But if you stop, you have to give a bit more time to catch up.As one of my teachers used to say - art is a "jealous lover".

Тези скици са след малка пауза. Поради това не съм много доволна от тях, но.. всяка почивка си има своята цена. За съжаление с рисуването е винаги така - влезнеш ли веднъж в ритъм, става все по-свободно и можеш да надграждаш и да развиваш нови идеи, да ставаш по-добър, но спреш ли за известно време - поне при мен, трябва да мине известно време докато наваксаш и се върнеш на предишното ниво. Както казваше един мой учител - изкуството е "ревнива любовница".

For this session the instructor said it is good to add face to the drawings, otherwise the drawing looks too dead. Even an ugly face is better than no face. And he said we should be fearless, and should not care if it is not well done. With the time, he said, it will get better /I truly hope so!/
It is hard to put face for the 1 min warms up, but I did try for the once where we had more time.

За този урок, инструкторът ни каза, че е добре да рисуваме и лица, тъй като без лице рисунката прилича на манекен - бездушна и безлична. Каза да не се притесняваме дали лицето е грозно или не, това с времето щяло да се оправи /силно се надявам да е така/. За скиците в началото, които са 1 мин е малко трудно да се смогва, но след това съм гледала да го рисувам винаги.

Pijo and Penda

In Bulgaria we celebrate many things in March, first of it is 1st of March, when every person puts matrtnitsa on himself/herself. It is varies in form and shape, but it is always a white and red yarn joint together for health and purity. And one of the most famous variants of martenitsa is Pijo /guy/ and Penda /girl/.
 So I had a bit of fun with them here.

Gesture drawing... Part 1

We have these lovely classes at work which I started to attend lately... gesture drawing, which they say is very helpful for animators and of course drawing in general. 

I have been very rusty in these things.. haven't taken drawing classes for ages, so I though it will be useful to show some stuff. I have been to 4 sessions so far, but since the amount of drawings is huge I will post them separately.

One class takes 2 hours, and we warm up with 1 min poses for 30-40 min, then 2 min drawings, and 5 min poses throughout the second hour. Most of the drawings are bad of course. I don't like most of them but it is amazing once you loosen your hand what happens on the paper for incredibly short time.

Напоследък започнах да ходя на така наречените часове за "рисуване на бързи скици", които се провеждат на работа. Твърди се, че са в голяма помощ на аниматорите и разбира се за рисуването като цяло.

Отдавна не съм ходила на каквито и да е уроци по рисуване, тъй че реших, че ще е интересно да покажа разни неща. До сега съм била на около 4 урока, но тъй като количството на рисунки след всеки път е огромно, ще ги публикъвам в блога поетапно.

Един урок се провежда в рамките на 2 часа, като се започва със загрявка от пози за по 1 мин. за първите 30 - 40 мин., след което се продължава с 2 минутни пози. Вторият час е изцяло за 5 мин пози. Много голяма част от рисунките не се получават, но е невероятно да се види след като си се поотпуснал и загрял ръката и съзнанието си, какви неща се получават на хартията.

Gossip talk

The idea of this drawing is based on one of my most favorite subjects - the Bulgarian mythology, and more specifically the samodivi /the women under the tree/.

I am still not completely fully happy with this one. I feel something more could be added, or maybe colored in completely different way, although I though I had a clear idea form the very beginning. I still did it with a lot of love, and thought I should show it, and move on. I always feel a work shouldn't be shown if it doesn't fully satisfies me, but on the other hand every drawing has its own vibe, and nice mood and charm in it, and at the end this is what I am looking for. Drawing makes me be happy and I try to share that here!



Темата е една от най-любимите ми, а именно - българската митология и най-вече самодивите.

За съжаление така и не успях да доведа тази рисунка до краен вариант, който да усетя напълно задоволителен, въпреки че от самото начало имах ясна идея как да започна и как да подходя към цвета. Въпреки слабото представяне, е рисунка правена с много любов и реших, че трябва да я покажа и да продължа напред. Винаги имам усещането, че една работа не бива да се показва ако не съм изцяло доволнаот нея, но независимо от слабите си страни, тя все така може да носи настроение, което е и целта в края на краищата. Рисувам, за да се чуствам добре :)

Wanted to start posting in my own language as well for some time, but since I found out my dad visits me from time to time - Go Dad!, I thought the time for change finally came!

And in a parallel universe if I was home for Christmas this is what I will be doing now with my favorite women in the world!

Да видим дали ще звучи странно, но пък отдавна искам да пиша и на български тук (да, знам, че никой не ме е спирал)! А се оказа, че и татко бил минавал през блога от време на време, да ме види какви ги върша - Супер си, тате!, и мисля, че времето за промяна настъпи!  :) 

В една паралелна вселена, ако си бях у дома за Коледа, в момента щях да правя това с най-любимите ми на сърцето дами!

Waiting for the Ralph release

It has been long time since I have posted in my blog. Hopefully this will change if my inspiration decides to come back to me.
Last months have been pretty intense. We finished working on the Walt Disney animated feature - Wreck-It Ralph, which premiere is in 2 days!!!!! It was an amazing experience, working with amazing team and learning tons. It will be hard to describe my feelings.. I can just say I enjoyed it a LOT!

Cupcake Lover

 

Since we started crunch at work it has been really hard to find time to draw or to color my stuff.
This is a piece I did in February.  The cupcakes, at that time, started to be a huge temptation and I stopped them since then.. probably right after I did this drawing :)))

I wish I could just post my rough sketches, but I know that if I do it, I won't have any motivation to color them at all.


PS. My pattern inspiration comes straight from Kat in Wonderland :)))

It was an awesome and truly hard but amazing year for me!

I wanted to colour this picture before the year have past, but since my tablet broke, I couldn't.

Anyway, I dedicate this post to my amazing friends that made my hard moments much more easier and bearable. And I dedicate it to all the other people that are not in this picture but that I truly love for the love they give to me without asking for anything in return!

Beer Lover

This beer is called Leffe, and it is one of my favorite. There are many variations, but I prefer Leffe Brune /and sometimes Leffe Blonde/.
There is one beer which even breaks the amazing taste of Leffe, but they don't serve it everywhere /I'll try to take a picture of it if I have the chance/.

And - no.. I am not an alcoholic..
